Current Qld COVID Restrictions as at 19 April 2021

19 Apr 2021 by Peter Worthy

We have been lucky to have restrictions ease in recent weeks. However, it’s important to remember that there are still some restrictions that apply to our training sessions. Here’s a quick summary of what still applies.

Industry Plan

Currently, we must still comply with the Industry Plan for Indoor Sport. Key points are:

1. Occupant Density – one person per 2 square metres: Given our recent experience of people attending training, we do not think we will reach capacity for our training venues. We will continue to monitor numbers.
2. Collection of contact information: We are using the Qld Government Check-in App for all of our training. Please make sure that you/your children have downloaded the app and have set it up before attending training.
3. Physical distancing: As much as possible we must maintain a distance of 1.5m from people, except when you are actively involved in training. Entry and exit to the venues is where it may be difficult to maintain this distance. Please see the comments below about wearing of masks.
4. Do not attend training if you are unwell.

COVID Checklist

We are required to comply with the Indoor Sport COVID Checklist. This includes requirements such as:

1. Following good hand and respiratory hygiene practices. Please remember to (a) wash/sanitise your hand on entry, exit and regularly whilst you are at training, and (b) cough/sneeze into your elbow
2. Regular cleaning and disinfection of touched surfaces and equipment. At the end of each training session post pads, tape at the top and bottom of nets, and volleyball must be wiped down. Players, please make sure you help with completing these tasks. Coaches, please make sure that your team completes these tasks before leaving training.

Mask wearing

Wearing face masks is no longer compulsory in Qld. However, the Qld Government encourages everyone to wear a face mask in any indoor or outdoor space where physical distancing is not possible. As mentioned above, it is difficult to maintain distance as teams are entering and leaving training venues. We encourage you to wear a face mask at these times.

Thanks for your co-operation.
